In 1952, Dan Murphy’s opened its first store in Prahran, Victoria — a location that would become the cornerstone of one of Australia’s most iconic liquor retailers. Fast forward to 2025, and the Prahran store has been completely transformed to meet modern retail expectations — now powered by Hussmann’s high-efficiency, low-impact refrigeration technology.
A Collaborative Approach to Sustainable Retail
From the inception of the project through to final delivery, A.J. Baker & Sons led every stage of the refrigeration installation. Their expert delivery ensured the smooth integration of next-generation refrigeration technology into this flagship site.
As part of a larger sustainability strategy, the new Prahran store features Panasonic Transcritical CO₂ Condensing Units (TCO₂ OCU), a future-forward choice aligned with Australia’s HFC phase-down regulations. These natural refrigerant systems reflect the brand’s environmental commitment and mark a significant upgrade from traditional synthetic refrigeration options.
